If you want luxury with comfort, then Deshabille is you go. What started as clothes for dressing down is now making its mark on the fashion world. Deshabille have extended their collection this Winter to include more knits and weekend wear leggings and cardigans after much feedback from costumers advising they loved some of the sleepwear pieces so much they were wearing them around outside also!
Roslyn Bellerby found the gap in the clothing market with designs that fit the lifestyle everyone would like.....that is to RELAX!!
There's no better feeling than shedding the corporate threads worn for a hard day at the office and slipping into something more comfortable to relax and unwind at home. The quandary until now has been how to make the transition and still maintain a sense of style and finesse.
Enter Deshabillé, a label that provides a range of sleepwear and leisure wear for people to lounge around and relax in.
It’s all about dressing down. Deshabillé (pronounced dez-ha-bee-ay) is a French word which when translated means “informal dress”, “casual or lounge attire”, “an intentionally careless manner” or the more naughty – “to undress”.
Created by local designer Roslyn Bellerby, Deshabillé offers equal doses of quality, fashion and comfort for both men and women, that's perfect for our increasingly busy yet carefree lives.
“For years I could see that there was a huge gap in the market for sleepwear and leisure wear. We needed something that was a bit younger, more fashion-forward, higher quality, yet still well priced,” Roslyn said.
Deshabillé’s emphasis is on quality, starting with fabrics that feel beautiful against the skin, while allowing it to breathe and be comfortable.
Much attention has been paid to Deshabillé prints too, which became important to Roslyn during her time as a designer at Mambo. Some of the prints in the range have been specifically developed with artists and they are all an original, refreshing change from traditional (often kitsch) sleepwear prints.
“I loved being able to translate art onto garments and thought it would be great to see some of the amazing art that is available printed onto sleepwear,” she said.
Deshabillé through Roslyn’s experience and creativity is bringing the fashion into the a more relaxed lifestyle which whether you want to admit it or not we all aspire to have.
So throw away your trackies and lets deshabille (“dress down” not “undress”) in style!!
