Working with local female artists and drawing inspiration from her favourite vintage pieces, she began to put together a collection that was versatile, bold and a little left of centre. Milk and Honey was born in 2003.
The label debuted at Mercedes Australian Fashion Week in the 2005 New Gen Collections followed up by celebrated shows in 2006 and 2007.
Her philosophy for a successful collection is attention to detail from the first sketch through to the finished product. Texture, colour and strong creative direction are her design mantra for each collection.
Now in its 10th season, Milk and Honey is the perfect fusion of the style and individuality that women are demanding in today’s fashion market. The label has a unique appeal that is represented through art and signature fabrics. Since its inception Milk and Honey has expanded beyond the extensive list of Australian stockists, to include representation throughout Malaysia, New Zealand and the UK.

Gill Milligan - from a Model to Designer to Businesswoman. A combination that is hard to find. She has not only made a career out of fashion, but has produced some of the most creative, verstile and beautiful designs in the process.
Gill Milligan began her career in design at the age of 22. Before making waves in the fashion world, Gill was making a splash as a professional model. Her experience in TV Commercials, Presenting and Print media led to a career as a stylist for Australia’s first surfing magazine for girls and on a collision course with young womens fashion.
With a loan from her grandfather and little knowledge of design and production she created her first label Mermaid Sister.
A self-taught designer and businesswoman, Gill began to explore design outside of the commercial surf market that she started out in. A change in the market was approaching and the gap between boutique and street wear was closing, leaving room for a label with feminine styling and a distinct creative edge.
